The RYA Directors have determined that we need to delay the start of the season to April 16th, 2022 (games were not scheduled on April 9th - the weekend of Spring Break).

After a review of our rosters and the increased number of players, we have decided to create a couple more teams. We would like to reduce the number of players on each team in an effort to increase playing time for each child. Large rosters can sometimes make it logistically difficult to give each player sufficient playing time. We want the kids to play! Those teams already established can continue to practice this week. If we need players to move to another team - we will contact you directly before changing teams to see if you are OK with the move.

 

Because of the increased number of teams, we are in need of additional coaches. If anyone is interested in being a coach in the 9-11 and 12-13 divisions, please let us know. It would be a tremendous help towards getting all rosters finalized and completed!

IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2022 SPRING FLAG SEASON

  • Wednesday, March 9th @ 6:30 pm

Mandatory Coaches Meeting at South Lakes HS (meet at the front entrance) FCYFL Refs to attend as well.

  • Thursday, March 10th @ 6:00 pm

1st Referee Training at South Lakes HS (meet at the front entrance)

  • Saturday, March 12th @ 9:00 am

1st Player assessments at Langston Hughes MS turf field. Times will vary based on age division. (Cancelled due to inclement weather)

  • Thursday, March 17th @ 6:00 pm

2nd Referee Training at South Lakes HS (meet at the front entrance)

  • Saturday, March 19th @ 10:00 am

Assessments at Langston Hughes MS turf field. Schedule for age division below. 

  • Sunday, March 20th

Rosters distributed to coaches  

  • Monday, March 21st

The first week of team practices. Coaches will be updated with available field locations, days and times based on permits.

  • Saturday, March 26th

Potential scrimmages for referee training – more information to follow.

  • Saturday, April 16th 

Start of the season - times and team matchups to be determined
