Who Can Play?
Reston Youth Association’s (RYA) Youth Flag Football for Spring 2021 is open to boys and girls from ages 5 to 17.  A child’s eligibility is based on their age on or before April 1, 2021.
 
What are the Fees?
Every effort possible is made by RYA’s Youth Flag Program to keep costs low, while maintaining excellence in youth sports.  The 2021 Spring Flag fees are as follows:

• 1st Child - $120
• 2nd Child - $110
• All additional Children - $100

$10 late fee after 3/27/21

How do I register?
You can register at www.restonseahawks.org/Registration or by clicking the “Register Now” button on the right side of the screen.

What equipment do I need to bring?
Only a mouth guard is required to participate in the practices and games. Football cleats are encouraged, but not required.  Your registration fee includes a team jersey and a set of flags.
 
How do you keep the teams “even”?
We want the league to stay competitive and evenly matched so that all the players can enjoy the game of flag football.  Before the season starts we will hold an assessment that rates players with the goal of placing them on the most appropriate team. The kids will perform agility and speed drills that help establish their current athletic ability.

Spring 2021 Flag assessments will be on Saturday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 10th (if needed).  All registered players must attend (1) assessment session to be placed on a team.

How can I request my child to play with their sibling, friend, or request a coach?.
Please any special requests to the Co-Commissioners Brad Love and Tabitha Love. We will try our best to honor your request, but we cannot make any guarantees.

What are the age divisions?.
We have 4 age divisions (subject to change based on the number of registrations received and the age of players)

• 5 - 8 year olds

• 9 - 11 year olds

• 12 - 13 year olds

• 14 - 17 year olds

Where and when will we practice?
All practices will being the week of April 12th and take place at Dogwood Elementary School (12300 Glad Drive, Reston, VA) and Stratton Woods Practice Field (Reston, VA). Games will take place at Langston Hughes Middle School turf field (11401 Ridge Heights Road, Reston, VA). Teams will practice for one hour per week, during the hours of approximately 6pm - 8pm on a weeknight.  The exact day and time will be provided by your child’s coach once teams are formed.

When do the games start?
The first regular season games will start on Saturday, April 17th. Please note, that the Spring 2021 season will run from Saturday, April 17th – Saturday, June 12th.

What is the refund policy?

Please the Co-Commissioners, Brad Love and Tabitha Love for a refund. There is a $25 cancellation fee.  NO REFUNDS after April 17, 2021.

Do you need volunteers?
Reston Youth Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization. We depend on community and parent volunteers to be coaches, assistant coaches, and referees. If you would like to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach please register at www.restonseahawks.org/registration. If you would like to volunteer as a referee, please contact ryadirectors@gmail.com

In addition, all head coaches receive one free registration (per team they coach) for one child only.  Please the RYA Flag Co-Commissioners, Brad Love and Tabitha Love, for additional information.
