Playoffs
The first-round playoff games are set for November 1st, with a bye for the top two teams in each division. The Semi-Finals and Championship games will take place on Friday, November 8th at Langston Hughes for the qualifying teams. Playoffs are single elimination.
To see your division’s bracket, check the Flag Football tab on the website and use the drop-down menu. The brackets will show the schedule based on your team's final rankings, which some teams might not know until the last weekend of regular season games.
Rankings will follow the Northern Virginia Youth Football League format, using a power point system based on head-to-head match ups and overall team wins and losses. Please note that points scored during games won’t impact rankings.
Power Point System
Power Point values are determined as follows:
- Head-to-Head
- WINS by the Team -12 points
- # of Games WON by a DEFEATED opponent - 1 point per win
If two teams tied in power points have played each other during the regular season, the team who won in head-to-head competition shall receive the higher ranking. The highest rating becomes the highest ranked team while the second highest rating becomes the second ranked team and so on.
