Q: What are the age requirements for participation?
A: Age determination is based on cutoff dates to maintain fairness and consistency. A player's age is based on their age as of July 1st of the calendar year.
 

Q: How do we register our child(ren) for Tackle Football?
A: Navigate to the 'Registration' section on the home page of this website in the upper right corner. 

Q: What do registration fees cover?
A: Registration fees contribute to several things, including but not limited to: field usage, game officials' payment, uniforms, league insurance, and team equipment.

Q: When does the season start, and how long does it last?
A: See the home page with dates on the right side of the home page.

Q: What equipment does my child need to provide?
A: Generally, players must provide their cleats, mouthpiece (Mandatory), and water bottles.
 

Q: What equipment is supplied to the team?
A: Speedflex helmet; shoulder pads; integrated padded game pants (blue) and integrated padded practice pants (black). One reversible game jersey and one practice jersey.  

Q: Can my child be assigned to the same team as a neighbor?
A: Unlike our internal flag football program, players are assigned to a team based on NVYFL weight/age matrix. This is not flexible

Q: Where will the games be played?
A: Home games are played at Southlakes HS. Away games are played at locations in the surronding Norther Virginia area. 

Q: Where will practices take place?
A: Practices will take place at Langston Hughes Middle School in Reston VA. 

Q: How many nights each week will our child’s team practice?
A: Teams will practice five nights a week before Labor Day and three nights per week after that. Note: We will continue to practice 5 days a week in August when school starts. 

Q: Can practice and/or games be canceled due to weather conditions?
A: Weather conditions may lead to cancellations, but games at Member Club locations will proceed unless there is severe weather, as determined by league officials. Games will take place in the rain.

Q: Can children play outside of their weight division?
A: All youth shall play in the Age/Weight Division they are eligible for. This is non-negotiable.
